Abandoned book "The Warden" by Anthony Trollope ♦♦♦◊◊
HOLY BENT WHISKERS, CATMAN! I just found out that
word verification had been secretly added to my blog comment form! What a vile and underhanded deed to be visited upon the Land O'Babble! I shall vanquish the dastardly screens and return the comment box to its hitherto unsullied state.
Tah-dah! Victory is MINE.
Today Imagonna talk about quilt blocks and monthly obligations.

First up is the Rainbow Rows row-of-the-month that I'm designing and sharing/teaching at the shop. I've given you glimpses and bits along the way, but here's what I have done so far.
Six mini rows, each 6x18". 6"square spacers and 2" sashing in a soft 'Pacific Northwest Sky' batik. Some of the women in the group weren't sure about the washed out batik fabric, but I think that if it had been any stronger it would detract from the color of the rainbow rows. This was kind of a lucky guess on my part!
Now for the individual rows (at least the ones I can find pictures for!):

March/Spring

May/Dogwood

June/Summer

August/Pink Lemonade
The consensus is that the applique should be on the opposite end of the row so it's balanced better with the row above. I'll have to fix that.

And the next row is September/Autumn.
I'm in a bit of a quandary here. I'll be leaving the shop before the quilt is finished and I don't quite know how to handle it. This was my idea, my design and I work on it for HOURS on my own time. The fabric comes from the shop, as do the kits. I teach this at the shop during my regular working hours, so I get paid only my hourly wage. When I began the project I made it clear that I wanted to own the quilt when it was done and the BossLady agreed.
But now I'm torn. This take a spitload of work to create, and I don't know if my new job (whatever that may be) will be scheduled so that I have the time on Saturday to teach it and do I really want to make a trip into town and go through all that work for $10.50 before taxes? (Yeah, that last one was a no-brainer)
I maybe can't see the forest for the trees. Do you have any ideas?
