I'm Such a Rebel

Abandoned book "Blasphemy" by Douglas Preston ♦♦◊◊◊

So, out here in Blogland, there are many 'events' aimed toward increasing your readership or inspiring bloggers to observe, write and share.

This month it [was] Blogtoberfest. The premise is simple: Write (and publish) a blog post every day in the month of October.

You can probably figure out that I didn't jump on that bandwagon this year, since my last post was September 28, eh?

Nah, I don't have anything against "Blogtoberfest" or any of the other events; some day I might play along. I was just feeling a smidge guilty about being so quiet on the blog (uh-oh...guilty? Time to re-read "Blogging Without Obligation") that I thought I would like to dip my toe back in and give you a clever title and reason for my absence... or something like that.

The short version is that October was a very, very busy and good and bad stressful month, both at the shop and at home. I actually have lots of things to tell you about (and I know you've heard that before here, too). So what I'll do (until a squirrel runs past the window) is sit here today at my puter and write a few posts for you, telling you about some of what's kept me away from my blog for a month. I'll set them to publish a couple/few days apart so you're not faced with a single post the size of The Blah Story (which, according to Wikipedia, contains over 20 times the number of words as the English version of War and Peace, the usual standby when referring to a long, long, long book)(but I digress).

But since this is turning out to be a 'tell you what we're gonna talk about instead of just talking about it' post (one of my real frustrations with some peoples' "teaching" style)(squirrel!), let me leave you with a little peek at one the things that has been taking my attention away from you, dear readers:

Awwww what a cute little distraction!! Cats can find the best places to hang out LOL. Hey, don't sweat the lack of posting, I know you will do it when the mood strikes. If we posted every day we wouldn't get any stitching done :0)
