Do Not Adjust Your Set

"Well," she said, "you're the doctor."  "Private Eyes" by Jonathan Kellerman ♦♦♦♦◊

Split NineI started and finished a mini quilt last month - the Split Nine Quilt offered by Jeanne over at myQuiltGenie. I love-love-love this pattern! It was SO easy and it looks SO cool. I just love catching a glance of this out of the corner of my eye.

Finishing at just under 12 x 15", the top went together very quickly. I had originally tried to do a pillowcase (envelope?) finish, but you know - I just can't get those to look right. I ripped, re-trimmed and attached a mitered binding instead.

It was kinda funny - there were three of us in the group that were quilting along as the steps were being posted on the myQuiltGenie blog. TWO of us used this color scheme. Whoda thunkit, huh?

Oh and no, it isn't all wonky shaped. I was just too lazy to get out the tripod. I think I need to make one of these.

I have so many other projects going and things I want to do but this one keeps whispering, "I need a big sister..." Of course, next time I do it I'll modify the pattern just a smidge so that I don't have to match seams where it's not necessary. But that's just me. Can't leave well enough alone!!

Oh! Quilted close to 'the ditch' with holographic thread on top and cotton on the bottom.

Hi Ya! Spring Mini Quilt Swap partner! I am thrilled to try this!

This challenge gave me "permission" to try something new! I have been planning and working on a mini spring quilt and it does not conflict with your dislikes, ...but I am not sure that it matches your preferences either! It is scrappy...how could it not be when I have 20+ years of fabric collecting! It is a variation from my traditional style in a way but retains basic design techniques that I love.

I posted some fabric shots to the exchange forum. The "flower takes form" is the actual colors am using. (NOT THE oranges in the Spring Challenge colors. If you feel like puking let me know right away!!

I did not put any preferences on my site but I can definitely say I like practical items... so doing a wall hanging is a stretch and I would rather be making the block into something useful...what are your thoughts on that?
Happy Quilting!
Wanda
