The Sockish Surprise
January 30, 2007
Okay. Take size US7 dpn's. Add this and this:

Now, before I go any farther, let me tell you that I do not care for this yarn. I haven't made anything yet that holds its shape (hats, booties, etc.) and everything so far that I've made with this skein-that-will-not-die has ended up in the rubbish bin. This was a "keep my hands busy" project during a particularly heavy tv-viewing evening.
I thought, "Well, I'm not in the mood to do tiny baby knitting. But The Girl has Offspring who might be able to wear whatever size these work out to be..." So I cast on the number of stitches and worked the pattern exactly as written, expecting that the socks would come out larger.
Imagine my surprise when I ended up with this!

Yup. Those are MY feet. From an un-modified 6 mos. baby sock pattern.
Anybody want to say that gauge doesn't matter?
